What is Commercial law?
Commercial Law is also known as ‘business law’ and refers to all transactions and aspects of a business. This includes:

This tailor made course has been running for four years and is designed for in-house counsel, contracts and commercial managers and legal advisers. Taught by leading experts in commercial law, the course is structured to allow you to select from a number of workshops during the day in two main areas according to suit their area of practise.

Morning Workshop Timetable
The morning starts with a Contract Law update which reviews recent developments in formation and variation and uses a practical exercise approach. The morning then continues to cover Termination of the Contract as well as the potential consequences of breach and a practical drafting exercise concerning termination clauses.
The workshop then looks at Data Protection and Competition Law looking at recent changes in UK and EC law such as Articles 81 and 82. It also looks at the latest developments in Merger Control in both the EC and the UK.
The morning continues with interesting workshops on Cartels, Dawn raids and Private Enforcement before you take part in a mock hearing before concluding with a company law update.

This conference is designed to address the various problems that can arise as a consequence of using standard boilerplate confidentiality clauses, as well the examination of retention of title clauses and its effectiveness.
