Prepare for your Solicitor Training Contract
The Postgraduate Diploma in Legal practice is designed to prepare you for the final stage of becoming a fully qualified solicitor; the Training Contract.
The year-long intensive course will equip you, as a future solicitor, with all of the practical skills and knowledge. The course is intended to ensure you are sought after by law firms deciding on which candidate to accept into their trainee Training Contracts.
After successfully completing a Training Contract with a law firm, you will be a fully qualified solicitor able to practise in England and Wales.
By the end of the course, you will be competent in the legal transactional procedures involved in running a legal practice as well as understanding the importance and effective methods of undertaking of legal research.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice prepares you for the role of trainee solicitor by teaching you the tasks and demands expected of you. This law course in London and the UK will also provide lessons in advocacy, interviewing and advising clients.
You will also be taught the skills required for writing and drafting legal documents and developing the skills of interpersonal communication.

Legal Practice Course
The Professional Diploma in Legal Practice is also known as the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and can be topped up to achieve a Masters level law qualification or LLM by taking a further 60 credits. Due to the highly competitive nature of solicitor training and the securing of high quality Training Contracts, firms look for those candidates with the top marks from reputable law schools and training providers.
You will normally require a first degree to enrol on the Professional Diploma in Law. Similar to the LPC programme, foreign students with a previous law degree, can convert to the UK solicitor pathway by successfully completing the Professional Diploma in Law. With the right results, you can use the Professional Diploma in Law/LPC to secure a Training Contract with one of the top law firms in the UK (England and Wales).
